Abstract

This study looked at how motivation and grit influence college students’ involvement in sports in Region XII. Using surveys, it measured how driven and persistent students are, as well as how engaged they feel in their athletic activities. The results showed that students generally have strong motivation and determination, which helps them stay active and committed to sports. Both motivation and grit were important in predicting how deeply students engage in sports. This means that when students feel motivated and have the perseverance to push through challenges, they are more likely to participate consistently and fully. These findings highlight the importance of supporting not just students’ athletic skills but also their inner drive and resilience. Schools and educators can use this insight to create programs that encourage students to stay active, build character, and grow both physically and personally through sports.
