Abstract

This study aimed to examine how management practices and managerial skills influenced the performance of cooperatives in Davao Region. The study employed a quantitative research design, specifically the descriptive correlational, where 300 respondents participated in the survey. A purposive sampling design was used to select the respondents who are employees of either multi-purpose, producer, or agriculture cooperatives and have been employed for at least one year in the cooperatives. Utilizing an adapted survey questionnaire and appropriate statistical methods, the study found that the overall management practices, managerial skills, and cooperative performance were very high. Furthermore, the findings revealed that management practices and managerial skills significantly influence cooperative performance. Also, the study found that only management practices significantly influence cooperative performance in a singular capacity. A unit increase in the management practices is an equivalent increase in cooperative performance, holding other variables constant.
