Background: Globally, mental health has become a development priority. While in the Philippines, based on the mental health strategic plan for 2019-2023, almost 3,298,652 Filipinos suffer from mental health disorders, which can be associated with many factors.
Objectives: This study focused on filling specific gaps, particularly in relation to the shortages of mental healthcare providers.
Methods: A validated semi-structured questionnaire based on a Likert scale was designed to assess the hospital pharmacists' level of willingness, preparedness, and their perceived contributions in the conduct of mental healthcare services. The researchers conducted this study by distributing validated questionnaires through Google Forms, and 80 hospital pharmacists responded.
Results: The researchers later found that, in general, Hospital Pharmacists in Luzon are willing and moderately prepared, and can also recognize their roles in providing mental healthcare services.
Conclusion: It is established that the respondents' willingness, preparedness, and perceived contributions have no significant relationship with their age, length of service, and area of specialization.
